Homemade Mango Jam with Only Two Ingredients
Bring a taste of sunshine to your breakfast with this naturally sweet and fruity mango jam. The best part? You only need two ingredients – dried mango slices and fresh lemon juice. No added sugar, no pectin, no preservatives – just pure fruit flavor.
Ingredients
200 g dried mango slices
Juice of 1 lemon
200 ml water (for soaking and cooking)
Instructions
Soak: Place the dried mango slices in a bowl and cover with about 200 ml of warm water. Let them soak for at least 4 hours or overnight until soft and plump.
Cook: Transfer the soaked mango slices along with the soaking water to a small pot. Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice. Simmer over medium heat for about 10–15 minutes until the mango is very soft.
Blend: Use an immersion blender or a regular blender to puree the hot mixture until smooth. For an extra silky texture, you can press it through a fine sieve.
Jar: Pour the hot mango jam into a sterilized jar, seal tightly, and turn upside down for 5 minutes. Then flip it back and let it cool completely.
Shelf Life
Stored in the refrigerator, this mango jam lasts for about 2 weeks. Since it contains no sugar or preservatives, always use a clean spoon and keep it chilled to maintain freshness.
To make it last longer, you can freeze it in small portions or preserve it using a hot water bath.
Tip
This jam isn't just for toast – try it with yogurt, oatmeal, or as a natural cake filling.
With just two ingredients and minimal effort, this mango jam brings summer into a jar.
